Over 20 Killed as Somali Forces End Siege of Restaurant

Somalia's security powers finished a fatal attack of a beachfront eatery in the capital, with more than 20 individuals killed in the assault, a police official said Friday.

The security powers took control of the eatery just before sunrise, said Capt. Mohamed Hussein, talking from the scene of the assault in Mogadishu.

It was not clear whether Hussein's report of more than 20 slaughtered incorporated the attackers. Islamic fanatic gathering al-Shabab asserted obligation regarding the assault, in a telecast on its online radio late Thursday.
